tuesday ladies ride

Looking for a fun evening with a group of ladies who love to ride then Tuesday Ladies Ride is for you!  This will be our 3rd season and we have grown into a group that provides lots of support, motivation and most importantly lots of laughs.

The season will start in the spring, likely May and through to October.  Times change through out the season due to day length and weather so refer to Facebook or the website to check ride times and details. Rides leave and end at the Trout Pond and generally last 2 hours.

For 2022, the first Tuesday of each month will be for all skill levels.  So if you are a beginner or looking to gain experience on the trails then this is the evening for you.  We will break the group into different skill levels. All groups will have a leader and sweep.  The remaining weeks will be an intermediate skill level.  An intermediate rider can ride all the blue trails and is looking to possibly tackle some black runs.

Please refer to the guidelines below for guidelines and rules for all group rides.

We look forward to seeing you on the trails!

wednesday hillzzz day

Wednesday Hillzzz Day

Hillzzz day consists of running up and down the MD Park hill as many times as your training will let you. Most running programs, whether road or trail, include running hills as a regular training. The Taber MD Park hill works really well for hills as it is a good distance (500m from bottom to the gate) and the grade is about perfect – not too crazy but certainly not easy.

Each person typically goes at their own pace and all ability levels are welcome to join. Join us at or around 6:30 a.m. every Wednesday morning and check our facebook page for updates.

Thursday Group Ride

The Thursday group ride is available to all advanced beginner to intermediate/advanced riders.

The season will start in the spring, likely May and through to October.  Times change through out the season due to day length and weather so refer to Facebook or the website to check ride times and details. Rides leave and end at the Trout Pond and generally last 2 hours.  If needed, we will break the group into different skill levels. All groups will have a leader and sweep.  Come out for a good time learning the trails and meeting new people!

Please refer to the guidelines below for guidelines and rules for all group rides.

We look forward to seeing you on the trails!
saturday taber run

Saturday Morning Trail RUns

If you are interested in running the Taber Tuff route, as well as other variations of the trails in the MD Park, this would be for you.  On most Saturday mornings throughout the year there is a trail group run starting at the MD park.  The Taber Tuff courses are often used, however there are many “squirrel” variations that add to the fun.  There will be a lead and sweep for all group runs and no persons will be left behind. Check out the Taber Tuff Facebook Group for dates and times.

Group Ride Guidelines

MEMBERSHIP

For the 2022 riding season, all riders must have a paid Trail 77 membership. New riders can join 1 group ride free but any subsequent rides require paid membership.

SAFETY

For your safety, all riders are required to wear a helmet at all times. All bikes must have disc brakes and be in good working condition (Ex: bike shifts properly and brakes work.) If you are unsure if your bike is appropriate, please contact one of the board members or ride leaders prior to the ride and we can asses your equipment to ensure your safety.

GENERAL INFORMATION

Rides will be approximately 2 hours long and the majority of our ride will be on single track trails. If you need to leave the ride early, please be sure to let one of the group leaders know.

All groups will have a leader and a sweeper to ensure no rider is left behind.

NEW RIDERS

If you are new to biking our trail system and mountain biking in general, please attend one of our Intro/Beginner Group Rides first. This will provide you an opportunity to gain experience on the trails and some basic bike skills to better prepare you for one of the regular weekly group rides.

RIDE RESPONSIBLY

It is your responsibility to ride within your means. If you are not comfortable riding a feature please let your leader know or just walk it. We are here to encourage and help each other progress, but never want anyone to feel forced outside their comfort zone.

BE RESPECTFUL

All riders must treat each other with respect. We are here to learn from each other and enjoy the company of like minded folks wanting to progress on the trail. Inappropriate behaviour will not be tolerated.
